Response to COVID-19

As of June 6, we have received $125,000 in donations of freshly prepared meals donated from restaurants/caterers & private donors. Help us to reach our goal of $160,000 in donations by end of June. Our goal allows us to continue feeding our 20,000 women, men, and children in need every week.

Due to COVID-19, Peninsula Food Runners is experiencing a REDUCTION of 50,000 meals each week.  Due to the Shelter-in-Place requirements, many Restaurants, Caterers, and other Food Service Providers have either closed down or have reduced their production drastically.  This also means shelters, family service centers, elderly food service programs, and other neighborhood feeding programs are not getting the food they need.

In support of businesses and shelters, Peninsula Food Runners is accepting monetary donations from individuals or corporations who would like us to purchase food from caterers, restaurants, and food service providers and have it delivered to families in need.  This program supports businesses and shelters in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We work with over 500 restaurants, caterers and food service providers that we can support with your donation. For the COVID-19 Food Program, we ask for a 10 meal minimum donation. Thank you!

Here’s how your donation will continue to feed our families.

$100 will provide 12 to 14 meals to families in need

$250 will provide 30 to 35 meals to families in need

$500 will provide 60 to 70 meals to families in need

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and every dollar donated is used to support our mission. Your donation is 100% tax-deductible.

If you are donating a large amount and want to make sure 100% of the donation goes to us, please contact us directly for the most efficient way to donate funds. Our contact information is info@peninsulafoodrunners.org or 415-826-6903.

K Tea Cafe

K Tea Cafe

Owner Katie Voong of K Tea Cafe in Sunnyvale has been paying it forward for several years now, making 60-80 delicious meals every month since 2018 and donating her signature dishes to Peninsula Food Runners. Katie’s generosity and kindness has made a significant impact in ending hunger in Sunnyvale. Now with some help from Peninsula Food Runners’ COVID-19 food campaign, contributions have allowed us to purchase 100 meals from K Tea Cafe to be donated to families in need. We know this only helps so much for businesses such as K Tea Cafe during shelter-in-place, so we ask that you help in the following ways:

  • Visit K Tea Cafe when they reopen on May 3.

  • Tell your friends and family about K Tea Cafe

  • Donate to K Tea Cafe’s GoFundMe Campaign

  • Make a contribution to our COVID-19 Food Campaign

Masks! It’s not food but just as important is the donation and work from our dedicated volunteers from Peninsula Food Runners. Huge thanks to Sheryl Haller, Linda Levenson, and Nancy C. for initiating the donation and making of these beautiful masks for our recipient HomeFirst Services. Additional shout out to volunteers Nora F., Manuela P., and Shubhangi K. for helping sew the masks! This is the first 150 of 3500 that will be made. Wow, our volunteers are amazing!
